ABOUT VELANKANI ORCHID FARM

Sunday 23rd June 2019 was a memorable day for Velankani Orchid Farm.

​

The Inauguration Ceremony commenced sharp at 8:30 am under the blessing of Rev. Father Leslie Almeida.

The Function was witnessed by Friends and close Relatives.

​

Velankani Orchid Farm is a beautiful and well designed and a Sophisticated Poly-house. It is spread over

an area of 600 sq. m.

The Farm comprises of 6000 Orchid plants, In which Sonia Red Orchids consists of 4800 plants and Sonia White consists of 1200 plants.

There are total 16 beds made for the plants. Regularly the plants are sprayed with insecticides and pesticides.

Temperature is maintained through well advanced Fogger system and water is provided through sprinklers and pipeline.

The orchid plants are planted in coconut shells. The Farm Bears exotic orchids throughout the year.

The extravagant contribution of Velnakani Orchid Farm goes to  the Media level when some of its articles appeared on 10th January 2020 in Loksatta newspaper and on 23rd January 2020 in

Ladhai Nyayasathi (Marathi Newspapers) widening its Popularity all over.

The Maharashtra Government also shared its contribution in granting Subsidy to the Farm which added Feathers to the Cap. Last But not the Least, the support of agriculture Department is also Outstanding and Remarkable which guided the farm step by step.

Velankani Orchid Farm was also interviewed by a Vlogger- Mr. Sunil D'mello. He has even uploaded the content on YouTube.
